Beautiful Thought and Beautiful Emotion

I was thinking of the difference between a beautiful emotion and a beautiful thought.

This is a Beautiful jathi someone choreographed. Look how it is.

Now this is an Excel sheet i choreographed.

See how beautiful it is.

What is the learning here?

An emotion is exceptional if it moves your heart.

A thought is exceptional if it serves a purpose, solves a problem. The sheet above may be an Excel jathi but not a useful one.

An expression of emotion can be beautiful. A thought is never beautiful. That's not the purpose of a thought.

If a thought seems beautiful, it was actually an emotion.

A person strong in emotions can create beauty and elegance. A person strong in thought cannot.

If Filter In Google Sheets Isn't Working

Sometimes the filter doesn't work in Google sheets in Android. On clicking the inverted triangle icon filter, nothing is displayed. I don't know why it happens.

Here is a simple workaround.

Take a copy of file before starting

  • Create new sheet in the original file
  • Create working filter
  • Copy few rows and confirm working filter
  • Change references to new sheet and confirm vlookup in referencing sheet is working
  • Copy rest of rows to new sheet and modify references in referencing sheet to new sheet
  • Delete old sheet where filter is not working
  • Rename new sheet
  • Confirm everything ok

Happy And Meaningful Life

https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2013/01/theres-more-to-life-than-being-happy/266805/: "Happy people get a lot of joy from receiving benefits from others while people leading meaningful lives get a lot of joy from giving to others," explained Kathleen Vohs, one of the authors of the study, in a recent presentation at the University of Pennsylvania. In other words, meaning transcends the self while happiness is all about giving the self what it wants. People who have high meaning in their lives are more likely to help others in need. "If anything, pure happiness is linked to not helping others in need," the researchers, which include Stanford University's Jennifer Aaker and Emily Garbinsky, write. What sets human beings apart from animals is not the pursuit of happiness, which occurs all across the natural world, but the pursuit of meaning, which is unique to humans,

Men And Women, Relationship

  • Men work more: Nearly Half of Men Say They Do Most of the Home Schooling. 3 Percent of Women Agree.
  • On cheating: https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2017/10/why-happy-people-cheat/537882/: "As I [therapist] listen to her, I start to suspect that her affair is about neither her husband nor their relationship. Her story echoes a theme that has come up repeatedly in my work: affairs as a form of self-discovery, a quest for a new (or lost) identity. For these seekers, infidelity is less likely to be a symptom of a problem, and more likely an expansive experience that involves growth, exploration, and transformation... By falling for someone from a very different class, culture, or generation, we play with possibilities that we would not entertain as actualities... Under the spell of passion, lovers speak longingly of all the things they will be able to do when they are finally together. Yet when the prohibition is lifted, when the divorce comes through, when the sublime mixes with the ordinary and the affair enters the real world, what then? Some settle into happy legitimacy, but many more do not. In my experience, most affairs end, even if the marriage ends as well. However authentic the feelings of love, the dalliance was only ever meant to be a beautiful fiction.

Homemakers

 https://www.scoopwhoop.com/women/women-reveal-why-they-chose-to-be-homemakers/

My husband makes way more than me, it didn't make sense for me to work the same amount of hours and be super stressed while barely contributing. I'm now free to pursue my own interests and focus on my mental health."

Disclosure - Michael Crichton

Review from:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disclosure_(novel)#Summary

"In a review comparing the novel with the film adaptation, Nathan Rabin expressed a negative view: he described Disclosure as "loathsome" and "borderline-unreadable", and inferior to its film version.[5] Rabin also criticized the novel's characterization: "Not since Atlas Shrugged has a novelist strayed so egregiously from plausible human behavior in dogged pursuit of making a muddled ideological point".[5]"

What's There In An (Extra) Name

There are two twins in my apartment complex. Today they were cycling.

They look identical, have the same height and their names are almost identical. One is Advita and the other is ... I forgot. Something very close to Advita.

I met them and told them that they have the same look are equally tall, have similar bicycles, dress the same way, they should have the same name TOO. They looked at each other and then pointed out the obvious flaw. Advita said to me "if our mother calls us then we will BOTH have to run to her, if we have the same name."

I asked them. Does their mother EVER have the need to call ONLY ONE of them for anything? Maybe for dinner or to buy a badminton racquet or colouring pencil? The two girls slowly shook their head. They said their mother always calls both of them.

I pointed out to them. "WHY DO YOU THEN NEED TWO DIFFERENT NAMES?. You are wasting one name." I suggested that they talk to their mother and get rid of one name and use the other for both of them.

I am waiting to see what their mother has to say about my suggestion.
